Who we are and what do we do?
Founded in 2000 in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, the Meldrum and Bourtie Heritage Society (MBHS) is dedicated to preserving, protecting and promoting the historical, cultural and architectural heritage of Meldrum and Bourtie Parish. We aim to actively engage our community and encourage greater understanding and appreciation of the history of Meldrum and Bourtie through education, research and shared heritage initiatives. Our vision is to be a vibrant and inclusive heritage society that helps preserve and strengthen community identity and creates a lasting legacy for future generations. MBHS is a registered charity.

Our digital archive holds around 3,000 historic photographs, capturing the people, places, and events that have shaped the Meldrum and Bourtie area. A visual record of Meldrum and Bourtie’s rich heritage and community life.
Oral Histories
Our oral history collection preserves voices and memories and stories of life across the years. These recordings offer a unique glimpse into community life, traditions, and the personal experiences that shaped our parish.
